In this emergency situation Raise India Foundation helped those people who are daily wagers and don’t have any work to do for next 21 days. Raise India Foundation distributed Dry Ration Kit to their Shikshalaya’s children families. These Shikshalaya families are either E-Rickshaw driver or labor people or rickshaw puller or house maid. This dry ration kit contains 5 KG Atta, 5 kg Rice 1 Kg Dal 2 Kg Potatoes 2 Kg Onions. We tried to support these families while looking 21 days lockdown.
On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami Raise India Foundation started a campaign KHANA KHILAO PUNYA KAMAO for Daily Wagers. In this campaign we began with distributing two meals(Lunch & Dinner) a day in entire lockdown. We started this campaign with a aim of feeding 500 people a day but sooner we able to feed more than thousands needy people. Everyday we first sanitized the entire kitchen. Everyday we prepare different items like poori subzi, dal chawal, rajma chawal, poori kheer halwa, roti mix veg, chhole bhature and so on. We believe no one can eat same item on daily basis. We team distributes these packed items to different areas. We organized this Bhandara for more than 60 days. We distributed more than 20 lakhs meal in the first national lockdown.
"Menstruation is not a problem, poor menstrual hygiene is”
Raise India Foundation is running a campaign “Chuppi Todo – Sharm nahi Samman” around all the industrial construction sites in Delhi and NCR in a bid to improve menstrual hygiene among female construction workers. We organized workshop at construction sites where we discussed about the use of sanitary pads and maintaing good menstrual hygiene. At the end of the workshop we distribute Dignity Kit. These Dignity kits contain hygiene and sanitary items, as well as other items explicitly tailored towards the local needs of women and girls of reproductive age in particular communities. Each Dignity Kit contains 15 sanitary pads, pair of undergarments, a detergent soap, a bathing soap and a Towel. The idea behind choosing this theme is to highlight how the challenges faced by women during menstruation have worsened due to the ongoing pandemic. “Periods don’t stop for pandemic - it’s every girl’s right to manage her period safely and with dignity”.
In every winter RIF distributes warm blanket and warm clothes to road side people who spent their entire night on road side or at metro station or under flyover. Every year people die due to cold, so our aim to launch this campaign was not a single person loses his life due to cold.
Raise India Foundation distributed Santization Kit to their Shikshalaya children and to their families. This santization kit contains a Mask, a Hand Sanitizer and a Hand wash Bottle. The event was aimed to spread awareness about the Novel Corona Virus and about the precautionary measures for the same.
